Branded Hot

Watching the news we get to see a lot of hyped up launches these days.
The truly Indian Tata Nano launch which had a gala audience at Pragti Maidan in New Delhi , the I Phone launch which was carried out at midnight and interestingly had people queued up long before the actual launch and the launch of Virgin Mobiles where Richard Branson leaped from top of a building [ he could have started the Virgin Insurance company as well and made himself the brand ambassador with those kind of stunts but unfortunately it is only his mobile services that we get to enjoy] and landed into a crowd of models.
The real question is whether these hyped up launches indicate truly valuble products........Brand consciousness which was a trade mark of Western culture is unfortunately starting to get prominent in India too .
Everything from Mc Donalds to Subway to even Bentley has specific retail outlets here but where is the line that separates the popularity of the brand from the actual bang for the buck.
Retail cloth outlets everywhere in India charge more for apparels where those ever so common Nike or Adidas logos come in the front. The fact remains that brands like Adidas and Nike make class leading products but unfortunately many a customer overlooks the real value product which is often not the one where the logo comes in the front but the one which gives the best fit and is most attractive to look at .
Same is the case with electronic gadgets where the i pods and i phones rule the customers and their freedom of choice with the customers so willingly offering themselves into the hyped up marketing campaigns .
Here again the undeniable fact remains that companies like Apple make space age rocking products but it is also certain that alternatives are there in the market which can beat apple hands tied when it comes to features and are much cheaper .
The only problem is, you cant take those to a party and expect all the chicks there to save you a glance while any moron with an i phone gets instantly noticed .

So for the chronic "Brand freaks" a small piece of advice , next time you look for a particlular brand and not anything else when you go shopping just remember that the last laugh might just not belong to you

It's come to the point where the consumer is a being hell bent on the sole purpose of making profits for the big brands who enjoy the major market shares..rather than even considering the market fledglings offering better value-for-money services.
